Make sure to take in some of the great history. While in Austin, be sure to go by the State Capitol building and then head to the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library to learn about one of our past presidents.

Then, for some great urban hiking and scenery, take a walk around the Lady Bird Lake, named in honor of President Johnson’s wife, “Lady Bird” (her real name was Claudia Alta Taylor). And, you can even head out on the water for some kayaking or canoeing.

If you are looking for something the kids will love? Make sure to head to the Austin Aquarium. There are over 35 exhibits in this expansive location, including an aviary, cold water tanks, and tropical fish. You can visit a rainforest, touch a stingray, and even hold a reptile. The Austin Aquarium provides multiple interactive displays and educational programs, helping your kids to learn about the environment and ecosystems as they have fun.

If you love all things Texas, as most of us Texans do, head to the Bullock Texas State History museum. Here you can learn everything you could ever want about the history of our great Lone Star State.

Grab a bite in Austin at one of the many top-ranked restaurants in the world. According to TripAdvisor, this includes a range of American, Southern, Mexican, Asian, and Contemporary cuisines. Stop by Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Truluck’s Seafood for unparalleled fish, or try La Barbecue if you’re in the mood for slow-cooked smoky flavor. Two other hits are Uchi and Uchiko, both of which are known for their Asian cuisine. These are just some of the many great restaurants in the area.

When it comes to sports, here in Austin, we follow and love the great tradition of the University of Texas Longhorns—the greatest college sports teams in the country!

As you can see, there is no shortage of fun and excitement in Austin. And always make sure that you come to pay us a visit at Bates Nissan just a quick drive away in Killeen, Texas. We cannot wait to see you soon!
