Nissan's Driver Attention Alert Safety Feature

2016 Nissan Maxima Banner2
In today's society we are constantly on the go, and oftentimes we never realize how truly exhausted we can become. When that exhaustion finally sets in, our ability to stay focused goes out the window. One of the most dangerous situations where tiredness or exhaustion can set in is while driving.

According to the AAA, one in five fatal car accidents are caused by drowsy driving. In addition, 40 percent of drivers have actually fallen asleep at the wheel. In order to help prevent the dangers of drowsy driving, Nissan introduced a new Driver Detection Alert system.

The new system picks up on driver's habits and closely monitors them in order to detect any kind of unusual driving behavior like swerving, for example. In the case that the Driver Detection Alert system senses that a driver has become tired, an audible prompt is sent and an orange coffee cup icon is displayed on the dashboard.

The new alert system will be included on the all-new
2016 Nissan Maxima.  The Nissan Maxima comes with an array of other safety features such as Predictive Forward Collision Warning and Forward Emergency Braking.  Find out how safe the 2016 Nissan Maxima truly is by taking it on a test drive at Bates Nissan!
